Beauty Pageant Committee Announcement

Beauty Pageant Committee is inviting all who are interested in sponsoring prizes for the Mr. and Miss. Kna pageant. The prizes will be for Miss. and Mr. Kna as well as the runner ups. The increments must be either $250, $500, or $750. All sponsors will be recognized appropriately during the pageant. Please let me know as soon as possible. I really appreciate your support.

Sports Committee  Announcements

  The last date to submit the entries to the convention sports competition is postponed to 07/07/08.

Note from Registration Committee
  • As notified earlier, registration package will be distributed on Thursday, July 24th at the convention center from 8 am to 5 pm
  • All registrants under one registration are requested to come together.
  • Name tags and wrist bands won't be released to those who are not present
  • Individuals 18 years and up are required to present picture ID if asked
  • All registrants are required to wear name tags and wrist band all the time at the convection facility.  Security won't let anyone in with out the convention name tags and wrist bands
  • Registrants are responsible for safe guarding their name tags and wrist bands.  Replacement of name tags and wrist bands will cost $50  each piece.  Parents and/or Unit officials must attest the replacement request
  • As always, registration committee need your support and cooperation.  This is a convention with record number of registrants.  The first day will be hectic, but  with your cooperation and understanding, we can make it very smooth.  I request all unit official's help in this regard.
  • For New York IKCC registrants -  Registration package will be distributed at our community center on Wednesday July 23, 2008 from 4 pm to 9 pm.  All NY registrants are requested to collect their registration on this day.  This will help the registration committee to concentrate on other units on the first day of convention.

Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Jose, Tampa, and Washington. 
Message From Forane Get together Committee:
According to the program, our Forane get-togethers will be on July 26, Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Room 7, which can accommodate between 75 to 100 people at one time.  I am already getting many calls from different Foranes, so.for a smooth schedule, I need your Forane names before July 5, 2008. The art and literary committee announces submitting participants list is officially  closed as of June 24, 2008.
Participant units are as follows.
Atlanta, Canada, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los angles, South Florida, New York, Philadelphia, San Antonio,Tampa, and Washington.
If there is any unit that has been missed, or to make any changes, you must contact the arts and literary chair within 24 Hrs. There will be no changes after that period.

KCCNA Honors and Awards Program: Call for Nominations

The Call for Nominations for the 2008 KCCNA Honors and Awards Program is underway! The Knanaya Catholic Congress of North America is currently seeking your assistance to identify Knanaya Catholic community members who have made outstanding contributions to the Knanaya Community and achieved personal success. KCCNA encourages you to recognize those individuals for their efforts by nominating them for an Association honor or award.

June 08

This is an update about the sightseeing program, after the KCCNA convention.

As you all are aware, we did not receive enough registrations for any of the proposed sightseeing program as of April 30th, 2008, the closing date. However, we wanted to conduct at least one of the trips.

As of today, June 7, 2008, we have 42 registrants for Washington DC trip and we believe that we will be able conduct this trip, subject to availability of a bus. The last date for making full payment to the major bus companies for the trips was May 15th 2008 and we could not meet that date due to lack of enough registrations.

As of today, we are negotiating with a local bus company to make the Washington DC and New York City trips possible.

Regarding the New York City trip, we have only 30 registrants as of 6/7/08. Out of the 30 registrants, 27 registrants are listed in the Washington DC trip.

Our expectation is that we will be able to conduct the WDC and NYC trips, with the benefit of one bus available for July 28th and July 29th 2008.

If this does not materialize, we will be refunding all payments that we have received so far.

Note to all paid up registrants:

Please make arrangements for your extended stay at one of the hotels for the above dates.

Registration list for the 2008 KCCNA Convention is published for your information. Please visit the registration page to view the registration list. Sincere thanks to all those who registered for the convention. 
Those who are short of registration fees are requested to make the payment at the earliest possible. Also those who didn't pay for banquet and wish to buy banquet tickets, please send the payment to the Registration Chair by June 21, 2008. Banquet tickets won't be available to buy after June 21, 2008.
Convention Steering Committee reserve the right to take any appropriate action if any registration turned out as ineligible for registering. Please contact registration chair for any questions regarding the registration.

The Transportation committee has come up with a very important announcement. Please check the transportation page for more details.

 

They need details of your travel plans before the 30th of April. Would you be renting a car from any one of these airports(Newark, LaGuardia / JFK/ New burgh/ White Plains/ McArther (Islip, Long Island) / Philadelphia).

Arts and Talent committee announcements

The Arts and Literary Competition committee would like to announce that two participants/groups for each item (single and group) are allowed for the units from New York, Chicago and Houston. For all the other units, only one participant/group is allowed for each item. It is the responsibility of each unit's President and secretary to submit (final list) all the names of participants (including all the participants for group items) by June 24, 2008. Each unit must confirm with the Arts and Literary chairman before June 24, 2008. Once the final list is established there will be no changes permitted.

Convention Registration Chair, Mr. Pious Velupparambil has informed us that we have over 900 registrations. We appreciate your commitment in keeping the registration deadline. This shows the Knanaya Catholic community's enthusiasm to come together and to celebrate Knanaya heritage and traditions. We appreciate your enthusiasm and interest. Thank you.
 
Chackochen  Thayilputhenpurayil,  Convention Chair with his team of committee chairs and IKCC are working together to make this convention the best ever. Convention preparations are progressing well. We hope to provide an interesting programming to each participant by offering variety of programs.
